Moisture is the natural enemy of wood potentially causing irreversible damage. PALIGHT BuildBoard is unaffected by moisture and will not rot, swell, nor harbor growth of mold & mildew, eliminating costly repairs and making it ideal for mold remediation projects.
PALIGHT BuildBoard doesn’t require humidity or climate controlled environments for manufacturing or storage.

Lightweight: reduces operator fatigue & freight costs

Due to its cellular polymer composition, PALIGHT BuildBoard is approximately half the weight of MDF & particleboard, and comparable in weight to plywood. This lighter weight helps reduce operator, manufacturer and installer fatigue, and decreases handling and freight costs and the need for robust packaging required to ship heavy components. Compared to wood, lightweight PALIGHT BuildBoard reduces the burden on hardware such as hinges and drawer slides.

Installation Friendly

When compared side-by-side with MDF and particleboard, PALIGHT BuildBoard cuts easily, thereby decreasing processing. Additionally, PALIGHT BuildBoard’s density provides superior screw retention compared to particleboard, and similar retention compared to MDF & plywood. It can be stapled, nailed, and riveted, and accepts mechanical fasteners as easily as wood. PALIGHT BuildBoard can even be CNC machined to make blanks for TFL doors and components.

Paintable & Printable

PALIGHT BuildBoard can be painted without priming, and its surface can be easily customized with digital printing. PALIGHT BuildBoard is also architect-friendly, and can be used to create decorative panels that are ready to paint.

Adhesives & Bonding

When working with PALIGHT BuildBoard, a wide range of adhesive options can be used which allow for better, faster bonding, and stronger joints than melamine boards. Conventional contact cement, silicone, acrylic latex caulk, epoxy, PUR and other adhesives can be used for laminating and edge banding to yield superior results with no delamination.

Surfacing & Panel Products for Hygienic Environments

To complement the PALIGHT BuildBoard line, Palram’s HYG Series of surfacing and panel solutions feature antimicrobial technology. These HYG polymer sheets are versatile, durable, non-flammable, easy to fabricate, and can withstand harsh chemicals and frequent cleaning cycles. Silver ion technology protects the panels against the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold and mildew that cause stains, odors and material degradation. This built-in antimicrobial technology actively reduces the amount of microbes present on the product for the expected lifetime of the product. It does so by disrupting the ability of these microorganisms to reproduce, helping to create a more hygienic product.
